Serving

The last part of our vision is "Our Unlimited Outreach".  Through the programs and services listed below we reach out to Hilliard and beyond to reach those whom God has called us to serve. We hope that here each person can find an avenue for using their God-given gifts, as well as take advantage of the services we offer.

Preschool - www.hilliardumcpreschool.org

Hilliard United Methodist Church Pre-School is a half day program for pre-school children ages two and one-half through five. Our program aims to enhance the children socially, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, and provide opportunities to develop physically as well.
Our program is based on the child’s work-play. Play is the experience that absorbs children in thinking, problem solving, planning and using their imaginations. Children develop in all areas: intellectual, social, language, emotional, small and large muscle skills as they play. Other skills such as lengthening attention spans and gaining confidence in themselves emerge.
Our staff feels that every child needs to have a belief in human values-kindness, courage, honesty, generosity. Modeling these behaviors is the best way to teach young children. We believe that we need to be loving, caring persons. Children are loved because they exist as children of God. We hope to model our actions and words to show the caring ways of Christianity.
The Pre-School teaches in learning centers. Children learn best with “hands on” experiences. They become involved in something that interests them as they discover. Our group time increases as attention spans grow. Stories, puppets, games, role play, singing, finger play and creative movement are all a part of group times. Intellectual growth flourishes during these exciting group times and all during the session.
We want the children to feel they are loved, accepted, and secure. Limits are guides for behavior and safety. Feelings are legitimate and can be dealt with in positive ways.
Our staff feels privileged to share discoveries, experience new life and marvel at the beauty of the world with young children.
You are welcome to call the Pre-School office with any questions you might have about our HUMC Church Pre-School. Fall openings available.
We thank the congregation and church staff for your continued support for this outreach ministry of our church.

Our Church Pre-School was founded in February, 1971. Our program centers around the children. We want to help them grow intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, socially and provide opportunities for them for physical growth also. We believe that children should be loved, cherished and respected so that they are able to love and respect others. Hands on opportunities are an important part of our program. Children are eligible to come to Pre-School if they are 2 ½, 3, 4 or 5 years old on September 30 of the year they are enrolling in classes. Classes are offered both morning and afternoon. Tuition is paid monthly. The school year is September through the end of May. Scholarships, provided by annual Scholarship Sunday, are available. Call Robin Ozbolt, Director at 876-7180 for additional information or check out www.hilliardumcpreschool.org.
