PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE                         Marilyn Hoeflinger

If you want us to be praying for that request throughout the week, it’s really helpful to us to either write those down or share them on your connect card.

For our friends online, you can find the link to that in the comment section, and for our friends in person – just take out your phone and you can scan that QR code in front of you to fill that out as well.  We also have paper copies available.

And if this is your first time filling out one of those connect cards, it is our privilege to donate $5 on your behalf to the charity of your choice.

ANNOUNCEMENTS                                                            Marilyn Hoeflinger

We have a few things coming up in the next few weeks that we wanted to encourage you to prayerfully consider – you’ll find details on our website, hilliardumc.org, and links will be posted in the Facebook chat feed.

SLIDE – Discover Hilliard UMC

First, if you’re relatively new here, we’d love to have you join us for Discover Hilliard UMC, a time to hear about the DNA, vision, and values of this place and meet the pastors. It’s Tuesday evening, August 9, right after the Farm Market, so come grab so amazing produce, dinner from our Food Truck and spend an hour with us.

SLIDE – canoe trip

Today is the signup deadline for the family canoe trip for those ages 6 and up. We’ll head out right after church on Sunday, August 14.

SLIDE – labyrinth prayer walk

If you haven’t tried out the embodiment practice of walking a prayer labyrinth, we invite you to join Ginny Fisher and Beth Palmer for the last one of the summer, this Wednesday evening, August 3.

SLIDE – Friday Fire

Our final Friday Fire of the summer is this week, too, this time at the Blaine home on Whispering Oak. You bring a chair, we’ll bring the s’mores – a great opportunity to connect and relax together.

SLIDE – Women’s retreat

And this Saturday, August 6, we invite all women to a half-day retreat – an opportunity to take some time apart, some time just for yourself, to rest, reflect, reset, and explore some prayer practices together with Pastor April, Beth Palmer, and Lynn Weatherby. Suggested donation is $25 for those able, and you can sign up on our website.

Again, you can find out more information about these opportunities and other upcoming event on our website.

Now, as we prepare now to hear what God will say to us through todays message, will you join me in the Lord’s Prayer? You’ll find the words on the screen.

You can offer those gifts here today as you leave, online on our website, or using our Vanco Mobile app.

https://hilliardumc.org/pages/job-posting-financial-secretary/
As Pastor April shared last week, we are looking to hire a Financial Secretary – our beloved Shirley Meyers is ready to retire. This a very part-time paid staff person is responsible for the accurate receipt, counting, posting, and reporting of contributions and pledges made to the church by those attending worship services in person or giving online. If you’re interested, we’d love for you to apply. Details on our website.

Perhaps you come this morning with financial gifts that you want to use to bless others, so that the message of God’s love keeps reaching as many as possible.

I can’t say enough words of thanks to those of you who regularly give to the ministry of this church. It costs us nearly $12,000 each week to maintain our building, pay our staff, and engage in outreach to this community, and I assure you that EVERY dollar is put to good use.

You can make those gifts online on our website

SLIDE – Hilliardumc.org

During this season, we’ve been inviting you to 50 days of embodiment. And so we want to begin with a practice of gratitude and blessing allowing that to live in our bodies.

Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ Son of God (inhale) {on screen please}

Have mercy on me, a sinner (exhale)

For those of you worshiping online, you can add your prayer requests to the comment section. For those of you in person, you can share those prayer requests on one of the prayer cards that you may have picked up on the way in…
