Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the Season of Lent, and the central symbol on this day is the use of ashes. Each year some branches are reserved from Palm Sunday (the Sunday before Easter, marking Jesus’s entry into Jerusalem) and then burned on Ash Wednesday morning, mixed with a little anointing oil that is used in the ministry with the sick. As a community of faith, we recognize that the use of ashes symbolizes our call to return to God.
Join us for worship in person in the Sanctuary, a simple 30-minute service, including Imposition of Ashes.
This service will NOT be livestreamed.
There’s also a 7pm service in the Sanctuary, which will be longer and more involved and will livestream (about 60 minutes).
