Special Easter Offering

Each year we have a practice at HUMC of elevating a few places to direct special offerings that extend beyond the general operations budget of the church. Your pastors pray and discuss together where can we make an impact in the kin-dom through the extension of calls to greater generosity, to celebrate the hope God gave to each of us through the resurrection of Jesus.

West Ohio Conference United Methodist Church

This year we are elevating the needs of a United Methodist Church in Senegal that is in need of funds to pay for a roof to their building. The project was being supported by churches that chose to disaffiliate from the UMC, and they will no longer be supporting this missional need. There is a need of $8206.50 to complete this project. HUMC will be working alongside the West Ohio Annual Conference to see this need met.

$3,289 raised for the Senegal church roof!

HUMC Preschool

We will also direct support to our HUMC preschool. We are proud of this ministry that has been in operation for more than 50 years. The grandchildren of some of our first students now attend as we seek to provide a play-based, inclusive environment for children to learn and prepare for kindergarten. Over several years our preschool has expressed a desire for a raised bed garden that can be utilized by the students and the greater church community. While we are awaiting word on various grants to help with this project, the first piece that is needed will be fencing that is required for the preschool. This will be located on the west side of our education wing and will help provide a safe barrier for our students and all who enter the space. Any funds raised above the need for fencing will go to support future needs for the garden.

$3,003 raised for the garden!

God loves you no matter what

Finally, your pastors have access to a fund at Hilliard UMC that we call the Pastors Emergency Fund or PEF. The PEF gives your pastors the ability to offer quick response for emergency assistance in our community. These needs may include assistance with shut off notices for utilities, housing deposits, gasoline, automobile repairs, food assistance, and other needs. In this season of rising costs, we have received many calls for assistance. Our funds are quickly depleting, and we seek your assistance to help us ensure we are able to continue the offering of emergency aid to some of the most vulnerable of our community.

$3,542 raised for the Pastor’s Emergency Fund!

You are welcome to designate your Special Easter Offering to any one of these single options or if you do not designate, we will evenly distribute your gift amongst all three. You may give online using the link below, or mail or drop off a check to church marked “Easter Offering” and which of the three you wish to support (or any combination of two or all three).

Thank you for your generosity to the kin-dom. It is your generosity, especially in this Easter Season, that continues to help us to expand our love in action around the world.
