Looking for a way to reach out to serve our neighbors beyond the walls of the church? Try out one of these options!
Our annual Thanksgiving Outreach aims to provide a Thanksgiving meal and opportunities for prayer to those with food insecurity.
We work in partnership with the Hilliard Food Pantry, Hilliard City Schools, Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church, and many volunteers.
In 2021, our Thanksgiving Outreach served 325+ families with 10,000lbs of produce, 308 pumpkin pies, and $9,000 in gift cards, thanks to your generous donations!

Red Cross Blood Drives
The Red Cross hosts a Blood Drive at Hilliard UMC several times a year. Even one pint of blood can help many patients.
The American Red Cross is urging donors who are feeling healthy and well to make an appointment to give blood to maintain the blood supply for patients who rely on lifesaving transfusions.
Blood donations support patients fighting cancer, mothers experiencing complications during childbirth, transplant patients and those with chronic illnesses.
Check our online calendar for the next blood drive.
Donate the gift of life
Make an appointment to donate blood:
- Call the American Red Cross (1.800.RED.CROSS) OR
- Visit RedCrossBlood.org, using sponsor code Hilliard UMC
Walk-ins always welcome, though appointments take priority.
For detailed donor eligibility questions, please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org.

Seams That Bind
Threads of Faith
Location: Missions Room, Warehouse 839 building.
Monday is mission day, and our emphasis has broadened. Come help create homemade quilts for:
- Moms2B, an “innovative, community-based program” of Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center that aims to support low-income women through pregnancy and motherhood.
- Stepp Clinic Program (OSU)
- My Very Own Blanket, fleece blankets for foster children
- UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief), large unlined quilts that go internationally as well as stateside
- Henderson Settlement in Frakes, Kentucky
- Toledo Maternal Health
We also make quilts for children getting baptized at Hilliard UMC.
We accept fabric and pass on what we cannot use to St. Paul’s Lutheran (New Rome) and the Golden Hobby Shop (Columbus), which assists seniors in their arts and crafts projects.
Wednesday is open for your own projects. Linda is also available some afternoons for special projects.
Don’t know how to quilt yet? Beginners welcome! You can cut fabric, sew, do finishing work, and more, while you learn.
Ministry Leader: Linda Overman.

United Methodist Free Store
Donate new or gently-used clothing and household goods to persons on the West Side of Columbus, and/or serve at the West Side Free Store. Contact Barbara Murray or the UM Free Store for more information (614.443.1713), or visit their website HERE.
Pick up a reusable shopping bag to keep in your car, a grocery list, and some prayer cards from church. Then shop and fill bags with nonperishable food items using the list of suggestions. Hand them to those who are in need while you’re out and about. Ask their name and how you can be praying for them. Offer a prayer right then if you’re comfortable doing so.
Mission Item of the Month
Donate food or other items to benefit the Hilliard Food Pantry or another worthy mission. There’s a collection bin outside the Sanctuary.
