Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the Season of Lent, and the central symbol on this day is the use of ashes.
Each year some branches are reserved from Palm Sunday (the Sunday before Easter, marking Jesus’s entry into Jerusalem) and then burned on Ash Wednesday morning, mixed with a little anointing oil that is used in the ministry with the sick.
As a community of faith, we recognize that the use of ashes symbolizes our call to return to God.
Join us for worship in the Sanctuary, including the Imposition of Ashes if you wish.
There’s also a shorter, 30-minute service at 7am in the Sanctuary, which will include ASL interpretation.
These services will not be livestreamed.
