We give thanks for the ministry and leadership of Pastor April among us over the past nine years. We are grateful for her vision and creativity, her deep commitment to the inner life and contemplative practice, her attentiveness to the leading of the Holy Spirit, and her faithful service to this congregation. As Pastor April concludes her time at HUMC, we pray for God’s blessings upon her and her family — Martin, Eugene, and Marcus — as they prepare for the next chapter of their journey. We also hold our church community in prayer, asking for God’s healing and guidance as we move forward together. May we do so with open hearts, a spirit of listening, and may we all participate and trust in the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in this place. Pastor April’s final day with us will be January 22.
Celebration of Ministry
January 18, 3pm, Social Hall
We invite you to attend a Celebration of Ministry gathering on Sunday afternoon, January 18, at 3pm in the social hall, for hearty appetizers and cake! It’s an opportunity to celebrate the good work April has done with us over the last nine years, and for us to express our appreciation and say goodbye. If you’d like to help out with this, please reach out to Stephanie Dailey, Heather Taylor, or Beth Palmer.
We’re collecting a Love Offering for April — you can make a financial contribution to the church as a gift to her, and we’ll present her with a check. You can give online using the link below, or give in any of your usual ways and mark it for Pastor April Love Offering.
We also invite you to write her a note of appreciation for the impact her ministry has had on you and your family. She’ll be able to return to these letters again and again and be reminded of the good work she did here with us. You can bring them to the Celebration of Ministry gathering, drop them in Sunday’s offering plate / basket, hand them to a staff member or to her, or mail them to the church (PO Box 158, Hilliard OH 43026).
Finally, we invite your prayers for her and her family as she transitions out of her role as Lead Pastor at HUMC, and for our healing as a church as we begin to move forward and discern next steps.
