We’re delighted to welcome Cassie Johnson (she/her) to the position of Worship and Creative Arts Director for Warehouse 839 Music!
In her own words: “I recognize and honor the ways in which congregational singing and creative arts form our theological perspectives and worldview. My approach to worship programming is driven by a deep desire to see people renewed through and empowered by the divine encounters that often occur when engaging with art. I’m most passionate about church music and worship as a tool for transformation. As we offer our praise to God and declare God’s promises, or as we sing songs of mission and repentance, we are reminding ourselves of the power of the gospel and our role in the redemption of the world around us.”
“I am also passionate about building teams to facilitate meaningful worship experiences. Witnessing other people grow in their skills as an artist and leader brings me so much joy.”
“I discovered HUMC through the livestream (shout out to the wonderful staff and volunteers who make that happen)! I was moved by the church’s inclusive mission and the love and acceptance I felt when I attended. Having taken a long break from ministry to examine my own values, it was clear that HUMC’s central message that God loves us no matter what would be grounding for my family and me. I am incredibly blessed by and thankful for the community I’ve since found at HUMC!”

Cassie earned a B.A. in History & a Certificate in Diversity Studies from Penn State.
