The holiday season is busy for many of us, and for musicians, it’s often the busiest time of the year. I wanted to give you a glimpse into the life of a working musician during this season — perhaps some of these experiences will resonate with you. The life of a working musician The past…

My Passion for Music

April 10, 2024A Note from Jeff Rone Dear Friends, Music has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. My mom likes to tell the story of when two-year-old Jeff would toddle around the house singing his ten-year-old sister’s piano recital music. This kind of thing is how my mind works. I can’t tell you what I had for lunch yesterday, but I can still sing you music that I learned when I was nine in…

I’ve known for some time that my body, my heart, and my spirit were needing a season to SLOW DOWN. (Note: One of my Letters of Encouragement in early 2023 was about this very thing!) Carrie Newcomer has a beautiful lyric in one of her songs that best describes where I was: “I’ve been traveling…

The Power of Music

December 6, 2023A Note from Pastor April Dear Friends, Renewal leave allowed me a great deal of space to do something I love… travel. I have always loved the chance to experience new cultures… discovering all the wonderful foods, wandering through magnificent and ancient architecture, practicing a new language, and exploring communal rituals that I never knew existed. I love all of it! On our first night in Spain, my friend and I both ordered a tortilla for dinner. What…
